How to activate microsoft office?

Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows both require yearly activation. For computers on campus this activation usually goes unnoticed. If the computer is off campus for extended periods of time it may deactivate Office since it can not connect to OIT’s license server. To reactivate Office the computer can be brought to the IT Staff office located in Min Kao room 423 or by following the directions below.


Activating Office


Activate microsoft office with the following steps easily:

  1. Open any Microsoft office app like word, excel
  2. Click on activate button
  3. Enter office setup product key
  4. Click on activate button
  5. Office setup will be activated.

How to check office activation status

User can check if microsoft office is activated or not with the following steps:

  1. Open any Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  2. Go to File Account
  3. The program’s activation status is visible right under Product Information heading. If it says product activated, it means that you have a validly licensed copy of Microsoft Office.
